We LOVE San Diego.  Everywhere you go in this town there is an amazing place to shoot.  I grew up in this ever growing city and still cant believe all the unique places we stumble upon every day.  The Solana Beach Train Station is a spot we have been wanting a photo op at for a while now.  Every time we drive by I oogle at the glass elevators and invision possibilities.  Guess what! We were finally given the chance to shoot at the Train Station.  It was all I had hoped for and more.  Well except for the elevators, in reality they are much to small when you get 3 people in + 2 cameras and a pro-photo studio light but then again I think every elevator is to small for all of that.  Amanda was just so much fun to work with.  She wanted some fun new portraits and was up for anything creative we could throw at her.

Our long time friend and local fashion blogger Nacole Gray was hand chosen by Hudson Jeans to participate in their Fall Blogger Event Competition.  She along with several other fashion bloggers were given a $ amount and asked to put together an outfit at Nordstroms with only one major requirement, to incorporate any new pair of Hudson Jeans into the look.  When our phone rang and she told us about the competition we were more than a little excited to work with her on creating a photoshoot that would give her outfit a story.  Nacole spent a time in Paris and her style is often inspired by French and European fashion.  She really wanted our shoot to have a Parisian coffee house feel.  Short of flying to Paris, there isn’t a lot in San Diego the feel of cobble stone streets with wrought iron out door patios cozied up to them.  But Little Italy does hold some of that European charm and they sure can make a mean coffee.

We LOVE old cameras and our Polaroid is no exception.  A few months back we came across a couple of old Polaroid land cameras.  I did a little research and discovered some film that would still work in them.  Then it was Brett’s job to McGyver the vintage cameras back into working order.   Some Googling, inspecting, battery cleaning and 30 miles of driving for film later we had a working camera.  The focus and the cropping are not particularly accurate but that’s just part of the fun.  We dragged our Polaroid around San Fran with us and had a blast.  There are lots of actions and brushes and fun Photoshop effects to create Polaroids digitally,  theses are not photoshop digital creations.  We shot them, stood around for a minute and half watching our clocks as the polaroid developed  before pealing it apart and hoping for the correct exposure. We look forward to posting more of our Polaroids. Enjoy!

Back in the day the wearing of cuff links was the sing of a gentlemen.  Cufflinks are one of the few accessories a man willingly or not so willingly wears on his wedding day.  Well my thought is make them personal, so on that note I a.) wanted to learn a little bit about why men started wearing cufflinks and b.) find some really fun ones.  Here’s what peaked my interest.  To learn a little more about the history of cufflinks check out The Cufflink: A Short History

The mustache craze is still in full swing, so if that's his thing take a peak at these Cross-Stitch Moustache Cufflinks by MaMagasin on Etsy

Personalized Vintage Map Cuff Links. And the best part is you pick the cities you want on the cufflinks. This is a great gift with a lot of sentimental value. Hum now which cities would I pick?

Here's one for the Scrabble lover! and those of you that play words with friends that means you too. I've seen a number of Scrabble cuff links before but they are always the tan wood with black lettering. I really liked that these were made with darker wood. Theses are made by Cufflinks on Etsy

Love the Typewrite Key Cufflinks. For the vintage or writer theses are a fun one. Made by HauteKeys on Etsy

I saw these little gems an thought of Brett, they are made from Cadillac parts. He loves anything that has to do with cars and what better thing than cufflinks made of car parts. I guess the only thing better for him would be cufflinks made from parts of our old cars.
