I can not say enough good things about Diana and JB.  They are high school sweethearts that  went their separate ways when Diana  headed off for college and fate threw them back together one Christams break a few years later.  They thrived and survived long distance  from LA to Santa Barbara and then finally got the chance to move back to their home town of San Diego.  Six wonderful years together and JB finally proposed to Diana on a beautiful cliffside over looking the city of Santa Barbara.

We were extremely excited to work with Diana and JB on their Engagement shoot  especially knowing they wanted something a little unique and different.  A couple bottles of Champaigne and several  planning sessions later a Vintage 50’s beach shoot was settled upon.  It was only appropriate that this fantastic engagement shoot take place on their old stomping grounds of La Jolla at Windansea Beach.  Diana found the cutest polka dot bathing suit and styled JB in cloths from the back of his father’s closet.  Erin from Hall Events put together phenomenal propping for the shoot and came along to style it.   To top off the Vintage fun, there were classic Coke bottles, a seriously cool old cooler,  hearts on sticks, and we can’t forget the Bocce.  It was a beautiful San Diego day full of romance and beach fun.

This was one of the most fun Engagement shoots we have done yet thanks to everyone involved.

We are also super excited to announce that Diana and JB’s vintage beach engagement shoot at Windansea in La Jolla was picked up by Style Me Pretty!

Solana Beach, is a great little town along the Historic 101 highway with an abundance of beautiful locations for engagement photos.  We love when our couples think of fun ways to incorporate unique activities that have special meaning to them into their portraits.  Kian and Stephanie are no different and decided to share with us a wonderful part of their weekend routine. Taking their road bikes up and back along the Del Mar coast line.  They typically start their weekend bike rides near their home in Carmel Valley.  From there they beeline over to Del Mar and head north cycling along the coast through Solana Beach, up into Encinitas, and finally stop for a snack in Carlsbad before making the venture back.  For our shoot with Kian and Stephanie, they picked some of their favorite spots along their route so we could experience what they loved best about them.  The dog beach in Del Mar has a lovely little pedestrian bridge, and a spot to take in an excellent view out to the ocean and across the water way to the race track.  Once in the town of Solana Beach a stop at the Train station was a must for all of us.  The Station has unique angular architecture and wonderful little spots to sneak a photo or a kiss.  From there a stop and a coffee at the Pannikin was in order.  The weather was cool and overcast for the start of our photos but we were so happy when the sun came out for our final stop at the Carlsbad state beach.  There is nothing better to end an engagement shoot than sun warmed sand, blue skies and the waves lapping at your feet.

Thanks Kian and Stephanie, we had so much fun traveling to all theses great locations with you!

There are few moments in life more pure than the moment a man asks the woman he loves to marry him. Giuesseppe  decided to pop the question to Ashley when one of their favorite bands, Trevor Davis, was playing at Lestat’s Coffee House in Normal Heights.  With a slew of talented artists covering all sorts of music, most of which had a love and devotion theme, he knew this was going to be the perfect moment.  Giuesseppe had spent the previous night installing a micro switch and led lights into a mint tin in order to illuminate his proposal perfectly.  When Trevor Davis finally came on stage to start playing he put together a beautiful set of four songs about commitment and love and then handed the stage over to Giuesseppe.  Trevor asked Giuesseppe to come on stage with Ashley and as you can see she was totally shocked.  Thank you Ashley and Giuesseppe for having us be apart of your special moment and congratulations on your engagement!
