I discovered  last week that Brett is not only good at photography but is also quite skilled at booth building.  Aside from a few color and styling choices on my part Brett built and designed our lovely bridal show booth. We also wanted to share some of the exciting exhibitors at the La Jolla Hyatt bridal show.

Brett and I have been wanting to do an engagement shoot on a sail boat for a while now so it was just fate that Amanda and Justin got ahold of us because they were envisioning a boat in their photo shoot.  At first we toyed with the idea of just shooting on the pier and having sail boats going by in the background but then the stars aligned and we found Sailing to Recovery, a non profit organization  run by Captain Matt, and he hopes to soon join the Search for One organization in the South Pacific.  He takes passengers out on his beautiful sail boat almost every weekend with the goal of raising enough money to sail the boat to remote places and offer much needed medical services to families that other wise could not afford them.  It is an amazing cause that Matt and his father are trying to be a part of and he was more than happy to take all of us out for an afternoon on the San Diego Harbor.  Seing down town San Diego from a boat was absolutely amazing and it sure doesn’t make for a bad photo shoot either.  A big thanks to Capt. Matt, and Amanda n’ Justin for making this fabulous day happen!  We are also looking forward to joining Matt one of these days for his intro to sailing class, check out  Sailing to Recovery to join in on his sun set cruise and sailing outings.

Amanda and Justin are so adorable.  They met in Hawaii while  Justin was stationed in Honolulu.   Amanda was out on vacation to visit her cousin, she met Justin, hit it off and stayed in touch.  After a relentless amount of back and forth communication Amanda went back out to Hawaii and never looked back.  These two Love Birds are in San Diego for a couple years but are hoping to move back  to where they first met in Hawaii.   Right now they are putting the finishing touches on their wedding that will take place in the fall in Michigan.  But since they now live in Beautiful San Diego they wanted to have some pictures that really showed that they were here.  So we decided nothing was more recognizable than the Crystal pier in Pacific beach and the Coronado bridge from the water.  Part one of our fun afternoon together was at the pier.  Enjoy!

These two love birds got ahold of us to shoot their engagement shoot and came back for a rock the dress session.  They got married on the beach in the Dominican Republic but also wanted some fun shots near where they live in Arizona.  Shawna didn’t want anything to happen to her beautiful wedding dress but she still wanted to play around in the grassy fields we found so she opted to bring a more casual fun dress she didn’t have to worry about.  Thanks Guys, we had a great day, and you two looked fantastic!
